Our Services

Speech & Language Screenings

Unsure of what speech and language therapy is or if it is warranted for your child? How may speech and language therapy benefit your child? Does my child require further assessment? Meet with our speech and language therapist who will provide verbal feedback and recommendations on next steps for you and your child.

Speech & Language Assessments

The first step in starting your child’s speech and language therapy journey is completing an initial assessment/evaluation to determine current speech and language, assess need for services and to develop a therapy treatment plan.

School Screenings

Your child’s speech and language will be screened to determine if further assessment and/or speech and language services is required. Preschoolers with speech and language difficulties are at a greater risk of developing literacy problems, as well as later language, learning and academic challenges. Screenings can help to identify children who may require early intervention, which allows for the most promising chances for improvement.

Speech & Language Therapy Sessions (Individual & Group)

Once our speech-language therapist has completed the assessment process and developed an individualized treatment plan, it is time for the fun to begin! Therapy sessions are tailored to the needs of your child depending on goals needing to be addressed. Sessions vary in length and frequency, depending on recommendations made by your child’s speech and language therapist. Sessions can either be individual or group sessions.

Caregiver Training Sessions
(Indirect Therapy)

Therapy is a collaborative process. Optimal outcomes are achieved when there is carryover by parents and caregivers into the home and school setting. We provide training to parents, caregivers, aids, teachers or other professionals to provide them with the skillset to aid a child’s speech and language development.

Our Process

Step 1

Speech & Language Assessment

The assessment process consists of a parent/caregiver interview and a combination of both informal and formal assessment procedures (depending on the child's age). After the assessment is completed, the speech and language therapist will provide a written report and establish goals for your child, which will be reviewed with parents/caregivers once completed.

Step 2

Therapy

From the assessment, the length, frequency and type (direct/indirect) of therapy sessions will be determined. A therapy treatment plan with established goals will be formulated. Therapy sessions can be provided in clinics, homes or in schools or via online platforms.

Step 3

Progress Meetings & Report

Every 3 to 6 months, dependent on progress, a formal meeting to discuss progress is held with parents/caregivers, along with provision of a written report.

Reassessments are usually completed after approximately 12 months of consistent therapy to formally assess overall progress, modify therapy plan or plan for discharge.
